Information about Oral Medicine Program 

This program is an unique opportunity for students who want getting a master of Science in OFPOM (Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine) or the dentists who want to widen their knowledge by gaining experiences. You should be interested in  TMD, headaches, neuropathies, Sleep Apnea, oral medicine, or intraoral pathology.

The duration of this programs is 37 months, The program is designed for both US and international dentists, The program includes 17 courses (32.5 credit hours), Students are able to enter the program during the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters, Students continue to work in their practises while in the program, Students typically work on the program on evenings or weekends, The program includes 2-3 weekly streaming video lectures, one live weekly video conference and online quizzes, 
The program includes a capstone project during which students prepare and present a research paper (usually a systematic review) on a topic in orofacial pain, oral medicine or dental sleep medicine.

The curriculum

There are 2-3 courses per trimester, with 2-4 streaming video lectures for viewing each week. After each video lecture, students complete an associated online quiz (comprised of multiple choice, short answer or fill-in questions).
Students study a lot of about dentistry like

  •  pathobiology and treatment of different oral diseases in the field of orofacial pain
  •  including masticatory musculoskeletal pain, neurogenic orofacial pain
  •  temporomandibular disorders
  •  headaches
  •  orofacial motor disorders including orofacial dystonias and bruxism
  •  intraoral, intracranial, extracranial and systemic disorders that cause orofacial pain
